Try your hand at a creative project that will change the world for the better! Top designers, builders and architects are waiting for you to share their experience and take a step towards rebuilding our country today.

European Design Upgrade 3.0 is a project that educates, inspires, energizes and challenges designers, architects, engineers, businessmen, builders and just citizens! This is an opportunity to rethink approaches to the planning, production, distribution and multiple uses of flexible housing for people who have lost their homes and adapt it to today’s realities.

We aim to find effective solutions in the development of modular housing as a sustainable and affordable option through advanced design solutions and sustainable technologies. This model aims to provide the necessary place for temporary residence for internally displaced persons in Ukraine and adapt it to different needs (natural disasters, festivals, concerts, etc.).

FOR WHOM?

  1. For designers, engineers, architects and other innovators in the field of urban housing and those interested in developing their practices in a sustainable way, in particular from Ukraine, Estonia and Finland.
  2. For businesses and municipalities. You will have the opportunity to expand the scope of useful contacts and cooperation, as the project aims to bring together businesses and municipalities with eco-designers and architects to produce sustainable goods and services, as well as to introduce the latest achievements in this field to participants from partner countries.

WHAT ARE THE USES OF THE PROJECT?

  1. Get new ideas: the project allows you to quickly prototype and test new ideas and solutions.
  2. Exchange experience: you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues in your field and with representatives of related disciplines. This collaboration allows you to share knowledge, resources and experience, as well as get ideas and feedback from different groups of people.
  3. Expand your network: The project provides an opportunity for creative professionals, designers, engineers and architects to network with others in their field. As a result, there are new opportunities for cooperation and professional growth, as well as the opportunity to establish itself as a leader in the field of modular construction of temporary shelters.
  4. You will be able to express yourself: the project aims to become popular among creative professionals, designers, engineers and architects, as well as to attract public attention.
  5. Become a creator: you have the opportunity to become one of the creators of a digest of best practices in the use of design and architecture for the construction of modular housing. This digest can be used to solve critical problems by government, public and business organizations.

Our team

We have connected a team of cool experts from three countries to change the vision of European design together.

Program:

SKILLS UPGRADE SESSION
During the theoretical part of the training on human-centered design, we will be able to track the path of the building from the production phase to the location, from construction to deconstruction. In March, you will work in teams to create such a map, understand all the stakeholders and challenges that arise at different stages, and identify problems and opportunities. The professional development session will end with a presentation skills training that will help you prepare for the hackathon.
HACKATHON
These are training sessions aimed at developing practical solutions, architectural concepts, visualizations and combining them into a manual ready for further use by government agencies and private institutions in critical situations.
THE FINAL FORUM IN ESTONIA
You will be able to present your unique and universal solutions in the form of a public manual and receive an award from the project.
