  • Omar Mohout, Belgium

Business Modelling for a better design.

Tools like the Busniess Model Canvas, Lean Canvas or Pimentomap are powerful tools for startups and scaleups but you still need experts to explain them or to use them in their coaching and mentoring. Designing a good product but turning your product or service into a business with economical and social impact is even better, and much more difficult. How to turn your Innovation into Success.

    Systemic Design Thinking.

When a problem is complex, use systemic design thinking to solve it! Developing and teaching methodologies for product-service systems and systemic design. The design of intelligent products remains her passion. Kristel studied Industrial Design in the 1980s, the era when design was the big marketing word and designers were expected to deliver the differentiating ‘lifestyle’ selling factor. Kristel was more interested in what a good design could bring to users as a service, rather than the ‘outside’ of the product. Although she has experimented with graphic and web design, the design of intelligent products remains her passion.

    Emerging Resilient Economy.

Humanity has entered an era of life-threatening complex challenges that defy simple fixes. No one will survive alone, but we need to collaborate and foster ecosystems of intermingled solutions. Future wellbeing will depend on our ability to foster the emergence of a more sustainable and resilient economy. This emergence will ultimately depend on our ability to speed up bottom-up co-creation and create higher-order learning communities. Resilience will be founded on the acknowledgement that complex systems cannot fully be managed or navigated and we need to nurture diversity and flexibility instead. The emerging resilient economy will not be a simple economy of specialization and money accumulation, but an ecosystem of diverse and densely connected natural and human resources and activities.

    Brand architecture and strategy design.

“When creating any products, we want them to be desirable. How to make products which become a collection, a collection to become a history, and history to become a brand.

    – Philosophy or personal history. People don’t buy an item, people buy emotions.

    – Strategy and business model. What to build the brand architecture on?

    – Subjects and collaborations. One in the field is not a warrior.

    – Packaging. Presentations and exhibitions.

Achieving sustainable design in paper industry.

Digitalization will not replace paper from people’s lives even in 100 years, because man will always strive to be in nature, and paper is a tool that meets this need. ” Our technology RE-leaf PAPER, through technological processes and design elements shows how you can make natural, full of content and aesthetics familiar to us things, i.g. paper.

I would suggest to talk on such topics as:

    1) Consideration of traditional paper production and what is wrong with this area?

    2) How to move from the monetization of the destruction of forest ecosystems to global and sustainable paper production?

    3) Paper production as a multicomponent philosophical cluster.

    4) History of RE-leaf PAPER, as an example of how paper can be produced in another way.”
